Samantha Wilson was born in the UK but grew up on the sunny island of Mallorca. Born to two globe- trotting parents, travel came as second nature to her and after completing a degree in archaeology at Exeter University she set off to travel the world, and hasn’t stopped since. Her journeys have taken her from the Northern Lights of the Arctic to the wild lands of Patagonia to the remote islands of Palau. She has inter-railed through Europe, canoed the Swedish lakes, travelled the length and breadth of South and Central America and camel-trekked the North African deserts.

Samantha is the author of several travel books for publishers such as Bradt Travel Guides and Thomas Cook Publishing and is widely published in travel magazines and websites. She has been a guest on BBC Radio 4’s Excess Baggage programme and is a long-time member of the British Guild of Travel Writers.

After years living in Spain, Israel, China and Honduras she currently lives in a cottage in Somerset with her husband and far too many pets.
