Three-book deal for BP Walter at One More Chapter!

Thriller readers are in for a treat as rights to three new titles by BP Walter have been bought by One More Chapter, the digital-first imprint at HarperCollins. Beth Morgan acquired world English rights from Joanna Swainson. The first book, The Dinner Guest, is set for publication in May 2021, a domestic noir thriller, that weaves a sprawling web of secrets around an opulent West London world and the dinner that ends in death. Agatha Christie meets Donna Tartt in this nerve-shredding read.

BP Walter said: “I’m thrilled to be remaining with HarperCollins for my next three books and I’m very excited to be joining the One More Chapter family. I’ve been a big fan of their titles since they began and it’s brilliant to be working with such a passionate team.”

Morgan said: “We’re overjoyed to welcome BP Walter into the OMC family after his huge success at Avon with A Version of the Truth and Hold Your Breath, the latter of which was chosen by Fern Britton for her book club. With The Dinner Guest he’s gone and done it again, crafting a breathless thriller that hooks you in from the very first line and never lets go. It’s a fantastically fresh take on the domestic noir genre.”

Four people walked into the dining room that night. One would never leave.

Matthew: the perfect husband.

Titus: the perfect son.

Charlie: the perfect illusion.

Rachel: the perfect stranger.

Charlie didn’t want her at the book club. Matthew wouldn’t listen.

And that’s how Charlie finds himself slumped beside his husband’s body, their son sitting silently at the dinner table, while Rachel calls 999, the bloody knife still gripped in her hand.
