Amazon Publishing imprint, Lake Union, have acquired two new crime novels from bestselling writer Tracy Buchanan. World English Rights were acquired by Sammia Harmer from Caroline Hardman. The first novel, Trail of Destruction, is set to be published in the UK in October 2021 with a simultaneous release in the US and Australia. The untitled second book will follow in May 2022.

Tracy has two other riveting domestic suspense novels with Lake Union, set in Forest Grove. The first book, Wall of Silence, was published in April and has recently sold over 100,000 copies. Rights have also recently been snapped up in the Czech Republic (Dobrovsky) and Russia (AST). The second novel Circle of Doubt is set to be released in January 2021.

Tracy said: “After the fantastic work Lake Union did with my recent bestseller, Wall of Silence, I’m so happy the team will be publishing more of my novels. I had high expectations when I first signed with Amazon Publishing and they lived up to all of them. I can’t wait to continue working with my wonderful editor Sammia and the rest of the team, bringing even more books to my awesome readers.”

Caroline said: “It’s been incredible to see how well Wall of Silence has done and I am delighted Lake Union are publishing another two books.”

Sammia said: “Tracy is a dream to work with we look forward to building on her success with these next two books. The key to Tracy’s success is her gripping writing with its claustrophobic small-town backdrops and utterly compelling characters. It makes for heartbreakingly real family drama that you engage with from the very first page.”

Trail of Destruction follows Tracy’s signature style of building suspense and plot twists. The book begins when Ellie Mileham takes over as the admin of her village’s Facebook community group, however something which starts out as a pleasant pastime quickly takes a sinister turn.

When members of the group begin to get targeted, including Ellie, she decides to take matters into her own hands, taking her down a very dark path, forcing Ellie to confront her own childhood and secrets she thought were long buried.

Tracy lives in the UK with her husband, their little girl and their (very naughty) puppy, Bronte. She travelled extensively while working as a travel magazine editor, and has always been drawn to the sea after spending her childhood holidays on the south coast of the UK visiting family – a fascination that inspires her writing. She now dedicates her time to writing and procrastinating on Facebook.
